How to Get Rid of Blind Snakes in the House
Any suggestions on keeping blind snakes out of my house? They appeared last year about this time and after several weeks vanished. They are now back. I have 2 toddlers and a baby on the way and cannot stand these things! They appear to be coming out from under the baseboards. We have pest control here regularly to treat for bugs, spiders, etc.
Our biggest issue is finding something that our toddlers won't want to mess with (sticky traps are just asking for little fingers to play with them). We are also looking for a cost effective option as our budget is very tight.
First, if you're on a tight budget, you should consider doing your own pest control. We sell whatever it is your local pest control service would use and if you would like to save the bulk of that cost, get our products (after you read our article so you know what's involved) and we assure you the effort will pay off immensely.
Second, controlling the blind snake problem you have would an easy fix. If you read our blind snake control article you'll see what's needed, that article can be found on our site here:
So in the article you'll learn about a range of products that can be employed. Based on your situation, the fix would be obvious (to me).
First, get some BLACK SNAKE SULFUR applied around the homes exterior.
Next, spray PEST RID SPRAY on the foundation and any crack or crevice where you think they might be living.
Pest Rid is a strong repellent and will immediately force away any snake, reptile, amphibian and even insects from the treated area. Made with food grade actives, Pest Rid poses no hazard to people or pets so it won't be a problem for use around children. Most important, Pest Rid works fast. So for your situation, here's how you should proceed.
Now because the Pest Rid will chase the snakes away immediately, you need to give them an exit path. That means you should not treat the outside first. In fact you'll want to spray the baseboards of any room inside the home first. Do this in the morning and allow the treatment to sit all day and then you'll need to wait another day before you do any outside treatments. This way the snakes inside the home will be able to move outside unimpeded.
So after two days of settling, you'll need to spray the outside foundation. This way more won't come back. And from that point forward if you spray the homes exterior foundation once a month, they won't return.
